
Shillong, Sept 7: The Autumn session of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly will begin on Monday.
The Opposition VPP and TMC will raise current issues concerning the state.
The Opposition Leader, Mukul Sangma, has already decided to move a resolution regarding the decision of the state government to allot funds to the district councils.
VPP MLAs, led by their leader, Ardent Basaiawmoit, will also initiate a discussion for 30 minutes on the state’s plan to bail out district councils.
Basaiawmoit will also move a special motion on the rise in cases of drugs and HIV, besides moving a resolution to stop the Meghalaya Education Grant (MEG).
Issues concerning illegal migrants will also be discussed.
There will not be any Question Hour on the first day of the session, which will be government business.
The Opposition will be minus the Congress as the lone party MLA joined the NPP recently.
The session will end on Friday.
