Lafarge provides health equipment to Sohra Covid centre

Shillong, June 7: The Lafarge Umiam Mining Private Limited has donated health equipment to fight Covid.

It handed over 100 full body PPEs, 350 N-95 masks, 200 gloves and 2 disinfectant sprayers to the community corona care center (CCC) at Sohra on June 4.

The Lafarge said the aim was to  to assist the sub-divisional administration in combating the rise in the number of Covid  cases.

The sub divisional officer Alexander S Mukhim thanked LUMPL for the support towards setting up of the corona care centre and added that the equipment will ensure the health and safety of the health workers, doctors and nurses who will be manning the corona care centre. .

Assistance in Shella

Earlier, Lafarge had donated 4 oxygen cylinders to Shella PHC and two oxygen cylinders to the Nongtrai dispensary to ensure that the two villages are equipped to handle Covid-19.
