Shillong, Aug 25: The state government is behaving as if the ongoing second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic is over, the CLP leader, Mukul Sangm said on Wednesday.
After the CLP meeting on Wednesday, Leader of Opposition Mukul Sangma told reporters that the government is not able to deal with the challenges of the pandemic.
“Now the way the government is behaving is that as though the pandemic is over, as though they have nothing else to do and as though what they have done is enough, and they have left everything to the people,” he said.
He said the issue will be taken up in the upcoming Assembly’s autumn session.
“We must ask the government to wake up and respond to its call of duty as far as dealing with these challenges associated with the pandemic is concerned,” he added.
He reminded the government that the pandemic is still in our vicinity and the impact on life is felt by every citizen and family across the state, across the nation and across the world.
“We will take up the issue and ensure the government wakes up from its whole chalta hai attitude and responds to its call of duty,” Mukul said.
