Shillong, Sept 3: CLP leader Mukul Sangma on Friday said the reason for the removal of Assembly Speaker Metbah Lyngdoh will be explained on the floor of the House.

The Assembly session starts from September 10.
Briefing reporters after the meeting of the Congress legislators, Mukul said that the reasons will be given when the resolution wil be taken up in the Assembly.
Mukul said the no-confidence motion was moved on Thursday against the Speaker since the notice has to be sent 14 days in advance as per the Assembly rules.
However, Congress sources said that though Metbah is the Speaker ,he is taking some executive decisions and being part of the government he is also responsible for the wrong doings of the government.
However, the sources did not reveal what are these executive decisions.
According to other sources, the move to remove the Speaker is to test whether the NPP-led MDA government still enjoys the majority due to the issues confronting the government.
The Congress will focus on law and order issues arising out of the killing of former HNLC general secretary Cherishstarfield Thangkhiew.
