Shillong, Sept 7: All India Malayalee Association (AIMA), Meghalaya unit has extended greetings to all on the occasion of Onam which symbolises equality and oneness in society.
Onam, the national festival of Malayalees in Kerala and around the world, is on September 8.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the AIMA secretary Aquarius Mathew said Onam will be celebrated in Shillong in association with Kalakairaly, the cultural wing of AIMA Meghalaya involving all the members of the Malayalee community.
The cultural programme and festivities with Onam Sadya ( Feast) will be held on September 18 at David Hall, 101 Area, Shillong.
All Malayalees in and around Shillong may reach out to AIMA to participate in cultural events planned for the day on WhatsApp number 9436119099, Mathew said.
The committee informed that the students and community members from Kerala who are in Shillong may contact aimameghalaya@gmail.com to confirm their presence for the programme and also be part of any cultural event if required.
