Shillong, July 26: Police have arrested 28 persons in connection with the July 24 violence in Tura.
Police on Wednesday arrested Salseng R Marak (in picture)who was absconding.

In a video, he was seen addressing the gathering outside the office of the Chief Minister Conrad Sangma in Tura on July 24 when the CM was holding a meeting with the pressure groups on winter capital and reservation roster.
He was earlier served in Meghalaya police but was dismissed for prolonged absence.
Salseng was a UDP candidate for GHADC polls in 2021 from Siju constituency.
