48th State FIDE Rating Chess Championship held in city

Shillong, June 30: The 48th Meghalaya State FIDE Rating Chess Championship 2025, conducted by the East Khasi Hills District Chess Association (EKHDCA) under the aegis of the Meghalaya Chess Association (MCA), was held in the city from June 26-28.
The event at Khasi National Dorbar Hall witnessed the participation of 111 players from affiliated districts.
The tournament was conducted in FIDE Swiss Rules of 8 Rounds. IA Th. Biju Singh was the Chief Arbiter, FA Amar Bhandari (Dy. Chief Arbiter), SNA Miss Sumar Selon Ki Lamin Khonglah (Field Arbiter) & SNA Khrawkupar Pajat (Technical Arbiter).

1st – Ardhendu Sekhar Mandal (EKHDCA)
2nd- Silkam Sangma (GHCA)
3rd – Silseng N. Marak (SGHDCA)
4th – Krusen D. Shira (GHCA)
5th – Amit Saraf (EKHDCA)
6th – Barbith M. Sangma (GHCA)
7th – Balseng N. Marak (SGHDCA)
8th – Marcosh N. Marak (GHCA)
9th – Bonney Joanes Kharbani (WKHDCA) &
10th – Pynmanroi Suting (JHDCA).
The top 4 (four) Winners in the main event will represent the state in the ’62nd National Chess Championship 2025′, which will be held in Andhra Pradesh in August.
