Shillong, May 22: 53rd Bob Dylan’s Day will be celebrated on May 23 and May 24 in the city through various programmes at U Soso Tham auditorium.

BOB DYLAN SONG CONTEST

According to the organisers, the Bob Dylan Song Contest aims to provide a platform for the people to showcase their skills and talent, as well as their ability to express themselves effectively, also to make music part of education in life, to encourage and inspire hidden and budding talents in the field of poetry and songs writing, thus making music a carrier option.

First prize Rs. 20,000

Second prize Rs. 15,000

Third prize Rs. 10,000

known for his electrifying performances and raw energy.

Meghalaya Tourism.

The event aims to foster creativity and literary expression among students, with a particular focus on the theme of music. Participants will have the opportunity to explore the myriad ways in which music influences lives, emotions, and perspectives. Through songs & poetry writing, students can delve into the
harmonies, rhythms, and melodies that resonate within them, crafting verses that capture the essence of the universal language.

IPRS workshop 

The Indian Performing Right Society will host  hosting a workshop aimed at demystifying music copyright, explaining the role of IPRS, managing rights as a creator, and their right to royalties. IPRS will guide participants through the benefits of being represented as a community, ensuring due credits through data registration, and providing valuable insights that will help boost their musical journey.

Panel discussion 

On May 24 from 3 pm to 5 pm, there will be a panel discussion on the music career of Lou Majaw over five decades in music Industry & the music scene across the State of Meghalaya (then & now)
