Shillong, June 28: Director General of Police Idashisha Nongrang has said 65 percent of the chargesheeted cases in Meghalaya in 2023 are related to crime against women and children.
She was speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the two-day meeting of police officers in the city from Friday.
According to Nongrang, the police are giving special attention to deal with crime against women and children.

She said last year 32 percent of crimes were related to women and children.
On issues concerning cyber crime, the DGP said the government is in favour of establishing a separate cyber wing.
