Shillong, Aug 3: A person was arrested for snatching a gold ring and other items from a 70-year-lady in the city.
Police received a complaint on July 30 at Sadar Police that on July around 6.45 pm, a masked miscreant illegally entered the house of Janaki Toi (70) at Umsohsun, assaulted her and snatched her gold ring, ATM card and mobile phone.
A case was registered and duly investigated. During the course of investigation, it was revealed that one person from Mawblei was suspected to be involved. Accordingly, on August 1, a raid was conducted in his house.
During interrogation, he confessed his involvement in the crime and also disclosed that the stolen gold ring was sold to one jeweller in Mairang. The same has been seized and the accused person was arrested and forwarded to court.
