Shillong, Sept 23: Eight UDP MLAs have joined the BJP in New Delhi, on Wednesday (Sept 23)
The joining ceremony started at 10.30 am, abd it was live on the facebook page of the BJP.
The MLAs are Lahkmen Rymbui (cabinet minister), Pius Marwein, Mayralborn Syiem, Kyrmen Shylla, Synshar Kupar Roy Lyngdoh Thabah, Mathew Beyondstar Kurbah, Ollan Sing Suin and Balajied Kupar Synrem.
The MLAs joined the party in the presence of Union cabinet minister Kiren Rijiju, BJP North East Coordinator Sambit Patra and state president Rikman G Momin.
Patra assured that the conditional demands of recognition to Khasi-Garo languages, MRSSA, simplification of process of coal mining, relocation of Harijan Colony and others will be addressed by the Centre after Rymbui mentioned about them during the joining ceremony.
