Shillong, July 28: The police on Thursday secured the custody of BJP MDC Bernard Marak for eight days.
West Garo Hills SP VS Rathore said the chief judicial magistrate granted eight days of police custody after he was produced before the court.

Additional FIR against accused
West Garo Hills police filed an additional FIR after it was found that one of the accused minors from Marak’s farm house has been sexually assaulted.
“As per medical reports of one of the rescued children, it has been found that the child has been sexually assaulted and accordingly, a fresh FIR is being registered under POCSO Act,” the SP said.
