Sinha writes to CM on delay in Kongthong-Sder road
Shillong, Oct 12: Rajya Sabha MP Rakesh Sinha on Monday appraised Chief Minister Conrad Sangma of the delay in the Kongthong-Sder road project.
In a letter to Sangma, Sinha said after the initial survey for the project, there was “no substantive progress”.
Besides Kongthong, Sinha has adopted Sder, Mawmang and Mawsohmad villages in East Khasi Hills. He wrote that he visited Mawmang on foot and it took him two hours to and fro. “I made representation for construction of a road between Kongthong to (sic) Sder. I thank you for accepting this demand,” he said, adding that during Sangma’s Delhi visit, he had promised that work would start soon.
Sinha urged the state government to implement the project keeping in mind the plight of the local residents.
