Shillong, Dec 26: Trinamool Congress’s national spokesperson Saket Gokhale wrote to Chief Minister Conrad Sangma and Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong on the occasion of Christmas on Sunday.
In his letter, Gokhale sought to put aside the differences and “and introspect on the message of love, truth, and faith as given by Lord Jesus Christ”.
“As the elections approach, we will continue to spar and I will continue to fulfil my obligation towards the great state and people of Meghalaya… We all are answerable to our Lord and to his people on earth. And when we are held accountable, we must know inside ourselves that while we can lie to people we cannot lie to ourselves and to our Lord,” he said.
“For a day, let us put our differences aside and spend time in remembering and celebrating Lord Jesus Christ who was sent by God himself and who gave his life for each of our sins,” he added.
