Shillong, March 17: Senior NPP MLA Timothy Shira is set to return as Deputy Speaker as the Assembly Secretariat on Friday received only his nomination.
Assembly Commissioner and Secretary Andrew Simons said the Assembly Secretariat received only one nomination.

Election to the deputy speaker will be held on March 20 and Shira is set to be elected unopposed as the Opposition did not file nominations for the post.
The last day to file the nominations was on Friday till 4 pm.
Shira was the deputy speaker in the NPP-led MDA government.
