Shillong, April 16: A police constable identified as Vicky Biswa was arrested in connection with the case related to alleged misappropriation of funds for procurement of Covid materials.
A police source said he was attached to former AIG (A ) GK Iangrai who had already been arrested and granted bail.
The arrest of the constable was made on Thursday.
Later, the court sent the accused to the custody of the police for three days.
The source added that Covid purchase included sanitisers, PP kits, masks and other items for distribution to police units.
The complaint is that some items were procured making fake bills and some were never procured but bills were made.
Another charge is that there is a disparity in the distribution of Covid items received from several NGOs to the police units.
