HYC demands more CUET centres in state
Shillong, June 2: The Hynniewtrep Youth Council (HYC) Education Cell, NEHU Unit on Friday submitted a memorandum to education minister Rakkam Sangma for setting up of more centres for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) exams in the state.
In the letter, the HYC said many students are facing difficulties in appearing for the CUET examinations due to the unavailability of centres in the state which compel the students seeking admission for UG and PG courses to travel to Guwahati for attending the entrance examinations.
“It is a fact that students are in the state of distress and hardship as they have to encounter various issues while travelling to Guwahati which entails high cost travel expenditure beside a long distance journey” said the letter.
The HYC demanded to explore the possibility of setting up more centres of the CUET within the state for students required for appearing in the entrance examination.
