Shillong, June 23: The chairperson of Meghalaya State Commission for Women Phidalia Toi said that a show-cause was issued to her only after two press conferences by Social Welfare Minister Paul Lyngdoh.
“I will reply to the show-cause and today is the last date . I got the show-cause notice only after two press conferences and hence there is a fight”, Toi told reporters on Friday.

Earlier, the minister said the government will form a search committee as part of selecting a new chairperson.
However, the tenure of the present commission will end after one year and the cabinet will have to take a decision.
