Relatives identify two bodies, Navy detects one more
Shillong, June 25: The relatives on Friday identified two bodies of miners trapped at Krem Ule coal mine, East Jaintia Hills, while the Navy recovered one more body.
The family members identified the bodies of Anowarul Islam Barbhuiya (26) from Silchar and Abdul Sukkur (28) from Karimganj.
Later, both the bodies have been handed over to the relatives.
Sukkur is survived by his wife Ruhela Begom (24) and three minor children- Abdul Sujon (5), Majida Begom (3) and Sajida Begom (1).
Earlier on Friday, the Navy divers retrieved the third body from the bottom of the 152 meter-deep and flooded coal pit.
Five miners were trapped at the rat-hole mine after it was flooded on May 30.
While the first body was recovered on June 16, the second one was retrieved on June 24.
East Jaintia Hills Deputy Commissioner E. Kharmalki said that after the recovery of the third body, inquest has been conducted by the executive magistrate at the spot and the body has been transported to Khliehriat morgue for post mortem.
