Shillong,June 28: Chief Minister Conrad Sangma has asserted that the MDA coalition partners have no problem in supporting the goverment despite the defeat of the candidates of the coalition partners in the Lok Sabha polls.
Neither the NPP nor the candidate of the regional parties won the twin Lok Sabha seats.
When asked about media reports that some UDP members have aired concerns on party continuing with NPP-led government following the poll debacle, Conrad said, “All the coalition partners had once again reiterated to me that they will continue their support and that we will complete this term of our government”.
To a question on coalition partners blaming NPP alone on many issues, the chief minister said, “That’s fine we have no problem. We are working together. I have spoken to our coalition partners. Everybody is on board. Yes, there could be some individuals, who will make their comments and express their concerns, which is fine in democracy it is important to express your concerns”.
