Shillong, July 5: The central BJP has appointed its national secretary and spokesperson Anil Antony as the new leader in-charge (Prabhari) of Meghalaya and Nagaland replacing BJP national vice president Chuba Ao, who was the state-in-charge since November, 2020.

Anil is the son of senior Congress leader and former defence minister AK Antony.
Anil, who joined the BJP in April 2023, unsuccessfully contested the recent Lok Sabha polls from the Pathanamthitta constituency in Kerala securing third position.
Anil was the Kerala Congress social media team coordinator and quit all posts of the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) protesting against the BBC documentary on Gujarat riots linking it with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
