JNC complains against EJH shop owners selling expired products
Shillong, Sep 12: The Jaiñtia National Council (JNC), Jalaphet Circle, has complained to the Commissioner of Food Safety against local shop owners selling expired products.
In a letter to Commissioner of Food Safety AB Tyngkan, East Jaiñtia Hills, JNC said the shopkeepers sell expired products, including food items, to villagers most of whom are illiterate.

JNC circle president Andy Bareh said the shop owners were warned in the past and the council held awareness campaigns too.
JNC requested the commissioner to conduct raids, seize the expired products and penalise the shop owners.
