KHADC wants more funds from finance panel

Shillong, Sept 30: KHADC, JHADC and GHADC on Monday proposed central grants of Rs 8877.51 crore from the 16th Finance Commission for the next five years.

Out of Rs 8877 crore, the GHADC proposed the highest amount of Rs 5042.30 crore especially to manage forest, KHADC Rs 2,641.54 crore and JHADC Rs 1,019.60 crore, KHADC chief Pyniaid Sing Syiem informed this after submitting a joint memorandum to the chairman of the panel Arvind Panagariya.

“We have also submitted 2% contingency charges at Rs 174.07 crore,” he told reporters.

The ADCs have also urged the commission to recommend more untied grants from next year besides allotting the GST share.
