G-Hills Finest's Poppin' & Shoppin' captures the essence of local life
Shillong, Oct 19: G-Hills Finest, the dynamic hip-hop duo comprising Kido Alph and Riozer TR, released its latest music video, Poppin & Shoppin, on October 17. This high-energy track is the first single from its debut mixtape, Songoni Mande, scheduled for release on October 25.
Poppin & Shoppin showcases G-Hills Finest’s lyrical prowess and infectious beats. The English and Garo lyrics reflect the vibrant culture and spirit of Garo Hills. The song talks about vanity and being looked down on because of one’s outside appearance.
The music video directed by Ludip Nongbak, captures the essence of local life, featuring stunning visuals that highlight the urban Garo culture. Fans can expect a fusion of contemporary hip-hop with traditional influences, creating a fresh sound that resonates with a diverse audience.

Songoni Mande means villager in Garo, reflecting the artists’ early lives, starting from their respective villages and moving out to follow their passions while embracing their roots and representing them on a bigger platform. “We have put out our emotions, hustle, and the fun we’ve had in our journey,” said Kido Alph of G-Hills Finest.
The video is released through Artsourced, a pop-culture label based in Tura that is trying to build a community through music, media, animation, and gaming.
