Shillong, Mar 5: Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Wednesday presented a Rs 1,970-crore deficit budget, which is approximately 2.96% of the GSPDP.
“I am delighted to highlight that the fiscal deficit has been maintained below the permissible limit of 3.5%,” said Sangma in his budget speech.

The interest payments for 2025-26 are estimated at Rs 1,347 crore and pension payment at Rs 1,824 crore.
