Shillong, May 16: The local court has granted bail to president of the North Eastern Hill University Students’ Union (NEHUSU) Sandy Sohtun, on Thursday.
Sohtun was arrested on April 28 for assaulting assistant professor of the university’s Hindi department Dr Alok Singh after he filed an FIR against him and five others

“Sohtun was released on bail on Thursday, NEHUSU general secretary Toniho Kharsati said on phone, on Friday.
He said the union will sit to discuss the matter.
