Jemino to continue in active politics

Shillong, June 8: The political activism of Jemino Mawthoh will continue even after his exit from the UDP.
Mawthoh said though he resigned from the UDP, he will continue to be in active politics.
On any feelers to join other political parties, Mawthoh recalled that even before the 2023 Assembly polls, many offers were made by political parties.
He,however, refused to comment on his future plan of action.
When asked recently whether Mawthoh will join the NPP, the National President of the party and Chief Minister Conrad Sangma said his meeting with Mawthoh was only related to NEHU affairs.
Mawthoh is teaching in NEHU as associate professor, department of adult and continuing education.
Mawthoh entered politics through UDP in 2006 after leaving Synjuk Ki Seng Samla Shnong (SSSS). In 2008 and 2013 he successfully contested the Assembly polls from Nongthymmai constituency.
In 2019, he was the Lok Sabha candidate from Shillong seat but did not win.
Mawthoh, who quit the UDP on May 20, cited only personal reason and did not mention any difference with the party.
UDP president Metbah Lyngdoh also denied any dissidence in the party.
