Indore, June 15: The Raja Raghuvanshi murder case is taking a new turn, for the Enforcement Directorate (ED) is likely to be a part of the ongoing investigation.
The ED’s involvement will be in connection with the Hawala case that has been linked to Jitendra Raghuvanshi, Sonam’s cousin (from her mother’s side). The ED’s involvement was reported by the Hindi media.
There is no confirmation on ED’s involvement, but the hawala investigation will be under the purview of the Enforcement Directorate.
Earlier, there was a mention of bank accounts linked to Jitendra’s name. However, Govind, Sonam’s brother, had said it was his (Govind’s) and his family’s money that was put in Jitendra’s account “for work, but it has nothing to do with hawala”.
Also, Sonam’s alleged boyfriend Raj Kushwaha reportedly reaped benefits to the tune of lakhs of rupees through the hawala. A part of the money also went to Sonam. Indore police’s investigations have found evidence of hawala transactions. They found Govind and Raj’s business transactions related to hawala, and the involvement of or connection to any other person or place has been found. There were media reports about Govind’s business links to other states.
When Meghalaya Monitor asked the investigating team in Shillong, it said, “Nothing has been confirmed, but we are looking into all the aspects.”
There have been several twists in the murder case since the arrest of the five accused.
