Mother’s School said it believes that ‘small hands’ make a big difference and it was a perfect time to introduce these young minds as to how to protect the nature around them through playful and joyful activities’.

During the event, the technique of ‘touch a plant’ was used by allowing each child to nurture a plant, walk outdoor to explore the campus and touch the leaves and to listen to the sound of nature.

The kids were allowed to plant saplings in old recycled containers.

Around 100 saplings were planted in the campus by the teaching and the non-teaching staff.

The plants were given by the parents of Mother’s School and Forest Department Shillong.

The event included the cleaning drive of school and the campus.

In addition, posters were created to high light the event.

“Green wee- cum world environment – building lifelong eco- friendly habits was held at SAIIC’s Mother’s School focusing on young mind blending with fun and learning. Every activity whether planting seeds, singing song or cleaning up-) helps children to connect with nature. These steps today will grow into big changes tomorrow and let’s build together a brighter and cleaner future”, said  Farida Khan Principal Mother’s School.
