Govt plans rain museum in Mawsynram, resort at Meghalayan Age site

Shillong,June 27: The state government is planning a rain museum in Mawsynram and
an experiential resort at Mawmluh, showcasing the Meghalayan Age, the geological age of the earth.
Tourism Minister Paul Lyngdoh told reporters on Friday that the project has already received sanctions, and tenders have been awarded.
Lyngdoh said the estimated cost of the rain museum is rain museum is Rs 35 crore.
“Work on the rain museum is expected to begin post-monsoon, with tenders already floated,” he said.
These projects demonstrate the government’s commitment to converting Meghalaya’s natural beauty into tangible experiences, rather than just theorizing about it”, Lyngdoh said.
According to Lyngdoh, the projects will showcase the state’s unique features and provide a boost to tourism.
