BSF pays tribute to Kargil heroes through music

Shillong, July 27: The Border Security Force, Meghalaya Frontier, organised a stirring Jazz Band at Matri Gate, Integrated Check Post, Dawki, commemorating the valour and sacrifice of India’s brave soldiers during the Kargil War

The event was held on July 26, hosted by 4 Bn BSF, from 3 pm to 4:25 pm as part of Kargil Vijay Diwas celebrations.

The solemn yet spirited event was graced by the presence of Satish Kumar Dogra, Offg. DIG, SHQ BSF Jowai; N.V. Siam, 2IC 4 Bn BSF; two other officers, 10 subordinate officers, and 20 other ranks. Also in attendance were T.C. Chakoo, Manager, Land Ports Authority of India ( LPAI) and officials of LPAI, further underscoring the collaborative spirit of the occasion.

An official statement issued on Sunday said that the BSF jazz band captivated the audience with emotionally powerful and patriotic melodies that resonated through the serene hills of Dawki. Each note served as a heartfelt homage to the gallant Kargil martyrs, who laid down their lives in the service of the nation with unmatched courage and unwavering determination.

Their heroic sacrifice continues to inspire generations of Indians and stands as a shining symbol of national pride and unity. The event drew enthusiastic participation from both residents and Bangladeshi tourists, who gathered in large numbers to pay their respects and join in the remembrance.
