Conrad welcomes Ronnie to NPP

Shillong, Aug 5: NPP national president Conrad Sangma has welcomed the Congress legislator Ronnie V Lyngdoh to the party’s fold and said the focus of the party was on development-based politics.
Speaking at the formal induction function held at his official residence here,
Ronnie stressed that his decision to join the NPP was driven by the party’s focus on development and its leader’s ability to “walk the talk.”
He praised the Chief Minister’s leadership and the party’s commitment to bringing lasting change to the state.
Lyngdoh claimed that his decision to join the NPP was not sudden, but rather a result of listening to the people of Mylliem constituency, who urged him to take a bold step towards real development.
Lyngdoh clarified that there were no pre-conditions, deals, or offers made for his joining the NPP.
Sangma welcomed Lyngdoh and his family, acknowledging the difficult decision they made to join the NPP.
“Bah Ronnie, I take this opportunity to welcome you once again to the family of NPP. I also like to thank and welcome your family members. I know that decisions like these are not simple and family plays a crucial role in supporting you in those difficult times to be able to take that decision that will change the entire dynamics of politics not just in Mylliem constituency but in the state as a whole,” he said.
He thanked Congress block president and committee members for their support.
The chief minister praised Hamletson Dohling, the working president of the NPP, who is former Mylliem legislator for his crucial role in facilitating Lyngdoh’s entry.
Speaking on the occasion, Ronnie said that his decision to join the NPP was driven by the party’s focus on development.
