Shillong, Aug 24: The owner of a coke plant in Byrnihat, Ri Bhoi, was arrested on Saturday from Assam’s Tinsukia area by the Directorate General of GST Intelligence (DGGI), Guwahati zonal unit, for alleged tax evasion.
The charges against Shiv Kumar Mittal, the owner of GM Coke, are that he had created fake invoices in the name of dummy firms to evade tax worth Rs 150 crore.

Earlier, the DGGI had arrested 4 persons with links to Meghalaya for evading tax worth over Rs 500 crore.
