Marcuise Marak, the only minister spared in cabinet reshuffle

Marthon lost due to his relative Timothy

Shillong, Sept 16:With the exit of eight Ministers, only Chief Minister Conrad Sangma, two Deputy Chief Ministers-Prestone Tynsong and Sniawbhalang Dhar, and Minister Marcuise Marak are the ones remaining from the previous cabinet.

NPP members, AT Mondal, Rakkam Sangma, Ampareen Lyngdoh and Comingone Ymbon, and UDP MLAs Paul Lyngdoh and Kyrmen Shylla, BJP member AL Hek and Shakliar Warjri from the HSPDP were dropped to accommodate Brening Sangma, Timothy Shira, Sosthenes Sohtun and Wailadmiki Shylla ( all NPP),  besides Metbah Lyngdoh and Lahkmen Rymbui from the UDP, Sanbor Shullai( BJP) and Methodious Dkhar (HSPDP)

The swearing-in of the new ministers will take place on Tuesday at 5 pm at the Raj Bhavan.

Though he was unwell, Marcuise was spared due to his proximity to the party leadership.

From Garo Hills, only two Ministers of the NPP were dropped -Mondal and Rakkam to be replaced by senior party MLAs Brening and Timothy, who was the Deputy Chief Minister.

Marthon Sangma lost due to Timothy

NPP MLA Marthon Sangma lost the cabinet berth since Marthon from Mendipathar had to give way to Timothy from the contiguous constituency of Resubelpara.
