Dimapur, Jan 16 (NNN): The 28th Liangmai Sports Meet 2026 is underway in Nagaland’s Peren district under the theme ‘Strive to Transcend’. The event, from January 7-22, is organised by the Liangmai Sports Association (LSA), representing Assam, Manipur and Nagaland.
The 28th LSA Meet is featuring 49 men’s football teams, 9 women’s football teams, 21 men’s volleyball teams and 17 women’s volleyball teams, along with competitions in badminton (singles, doubles, and veterans) and athletics. The 15-day sporting extravaganza reflects the growing enthusiasm and unity among the Liangmai community and beyond.
A musical extravaganza is scheduled for January 10, with Dr Alyson Abonmai, president, Palace Ministries Charitable Trust, as the guest of honour, and Masangum Hiekha, president, Jalukie Valley Youth Organisation, as special invitee.
The event is being led by SP Kadilinbou, president, LSA, with Hurui Namdau serving as Convenor, Organising Committee.
