Shillong,Jan 16: A fire ravaged several make-shift houses near Anjalee Cinema Hall, Iew Mawlong, in the city on Friday
According to the police, the fire broke out in the Goenka Compound area near Sohra Taxi Stand around 5 pm, destroying around 40 make-shift houses.

The loss of property of families is in terms of destruction to houses and belongings.
Six fire tenders were pressed into service to contain the fire.
The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
