
Shillong, April 30: A woman from Pynursla, East Khasi Hills, was found dead in Bengaluru on Wednesday evening.
Agatha Ba Ithianghun Khongwet, of Tangmang village, was found dead in her rented room in Hebbal, Bengaluru, the Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) said in a statement on Thursday.
She was found after 7 pm, said the KSU.
The union said Khongwet was in a living relationship with her alleged boyfriend, Nawaz Sharif from Manipur.
They were staying together at the Hebbal residence.
Police have started an investigation into the circumstances of her death.
The cause of death has not been ascertained.
“The case is currently under investigation and is suspected to be a case of suicide or murder. However, other possibilities have not been ruled out,” the KSU said.
The members of the KSU Bengaluru Unit reached the area following the incident.
“Members of the KSU Bengaluru Unit were present yesterday, along with her friends, and extended necessary support,” the union said, whole urging the authorities to conduct a fair investigation.
