Governor releases book on Netaji & erstwhile Raj Bhavan

Shillong, June 10: The book titled, “Netaji visited Raj Bhavan (Lok Bhavan) Shillong”  by Malabika Bisharad was released by Governor  C.H Vijayashankar at Lok Bhavan Shillong on Wednesday (June 10). The book contains the history of the formation of Congress coalition ministry in Assam in September 1938 and Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’s visit to Lok Bhavan Shillong. During the meeting with the governor, Bisharad handed over her petitions/request letters to him for preservation of the memorials of Rabindranath Tagore, Swami Vivekananda and Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose in Shillong, the heritage houses
associated with them and setting up of ‘Rabindra Bhavan’ at  Brookside, Shillong. She also requested the Governor to visit the places in Shillong lived by the great personalities of India. Bisharad also requested the governor to install a statue of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose at Heritage Lok Bhavan Shillong in his memory.
The governor gave his assurance to her during the meeting.
