Union minister’s visit affects NEET students in KV Upper Shillong

Shillong, June 20: The visit of a ‘Union Minister’ to Upper Shillong will impact the movement of the students, who are writing NEET examination on June 21.

The state government has not given the name of the union minister.

However, according to an official programme, Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will take part in the Yoga event at the Airforce, Upper Shillong on June 21 early hours.

A day before on Saturday (June 20), the union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman will visit the Airforce (Laitkor).

Restrictions have already imposed on the movement of tourists from 7 am to 11 am

The government has already restricted the movement of tourists.

The union minister is scheduled to visit PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya, EAC Headquarters, Upper Shillong.

The BJP-led NDA government at the Centre is already under scrutiny following the NEET question paper leak.

Sources said that the visit of the VVIP may affect the students considering the re-examination on Monday.

The District Administration, East Khasi Hills, informs all candidates appearing for the NEET (UG) Re-Examination, 2026 on 21st June, 2026 that a Union Minister is scheduled to visit PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya, EAC Headquarters, Upper Shillong on the same day.

In view of the VVIP visit and the associated security arrangements, traffic movement along certain stretches of road leading to Upper Shillong may be regulated, which could result in temporary traffic congestion and delays.

Therefore, all NEET (UG) candidates allotted to PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya, EAC Headquarters, Upper Shillong as their examination centre are advised to reach the centre well in advance of the reporting time mentioned in their admit cards to avoid any inconvenience.

Candidates are also advised to plan their travel accordingly and carry all documents required for entry into the examination centre.

The District Administration is taking all necessary measures to ensure the smooth conduct of the examination and seeks the cooperation of all concerned.
