Shillong, July 22: The VPP youth wing has criticised the adverse comments against the NEET protesters in Delhi by the BJP youth leader Mewak Lyngdoh Pakma.
In a statement, the VPP extended support to the protesters.
The HYC will hold a public rally at Khyndailad on Thursday evening.
Earlier CoMSO president Roy Kupar Synrem had also supported the cause.
However, the BJP tried to downplay the comments by Pakma.

BJP spokesperson Shri Arnab Das has clarified that the party doesn’t endorse any of the recent statements which have circulated on the social media and reported by the media as they are false.
We have sought clarification from our Yuva Morcha President and he has categorically denied making any such statements.
The fact of the matter is that any person claiming it’s source from the social media handle will need to verify it, as it doesn’t carry any authenticity as there have been many instances of accounts being hacked and misused. This has happened in the past too when many leaders from the state have gone through bitter experience of their social media accounts being hacked.
The party strongly denies making any such irresponsible statements as the party statements always come through proper channels.
BJP Meghalaya respects the fundamental rights of the protest held by the students community at Jantar Mantar Delhi. However it rejects the idea of other political parties trying to hijack their protest and claiming political brownies for their parties.
BJP Meghalaya also condemns violence against police authorities and requests the students community to maintain peace and not to allow opposition parties to take advantage of the volatile situation.
The state unit also strongly condemns the Congress party’s attempt to enter the official residence of the Prime Minister. This questions their intent and the threat posed to the PM’s security who heads the world’s largest democracy.
BJP condemns such acts carried out by the opposition parties. There is already a division between AAP and Congress over the protest with one claiming over the other of hijacking the event. BJP doesn’t endorse violence of any nature and would ensure that the protests remain by and large peaceful. Prime Minister Modi himself has clarified that 13 arrests have been made in connection with the NEET paper leak. The central government has acted swiftly and ensured that sweeping reforms shall be made. The country needs to be patient on this as the challenges to such reforms will need time and execution owing to the large demographics and federal structure involved.
