Shillong: Sept 21: The State Disaster Response Disaster Force (SDRF) on Monday recovered the body of a drowning victim from a small water body located at a private property at Mawdiangdiang. Personnel of the 1st SDRF Battalion, Shillong were activated by the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), East Khasi Hills around 2.25 pm regarding the drowning incident.
Upon arrival, it was learnt that the incident had occurred at around 12 pm. The SDRF team, led by Inspector S. Dkhar immediately commenced the search and rescue operation. The SDRF personnel retrieved the body of the youth around 3 pm in the presence of police personnel from Mawdiangdiang Out Post, and the headman, Mawdiangdiang. The recovered body was handed over to the police for necessary legal formalities.
