Shillong, Oct 1: Police have suspended all personnel shown in the video.taken by the KSU indicating extortion.
The Diengpasoh police station Officer-in-charge was also transferred.

Four police personnel -one head constable and three unarmed branch constables- have been placed under suspension pending enquiry.
“Enquiry, suspension, departmental proceedings of constables involved and transfer of OC have been initiated”, said the East Khasi Hills SP Vivek Syiem.
The KSU had on Wednesday ( Sept 30) alleged that police personnel were running extortion racket at Mawkhanu and Thangshalai stretch in East Khasi Hills.
A team led by Education Secretary, KSU Central Executive Committee, Alerick Kharjana conducted a spot verification at Diengpasoh and Thangshalai on September 30
“After we received complaints from many people about illegal demand of money by Meghalaya Police on the National Highway at Mawkhanu and Thangshalai, on 30th September 2026 under the leadership of Alerick Kharjana, we went to Diengpasoh and Thangshalai to verify and found it to be true,” the KSU had said in a statement.
The union also released video evidence of policemen collecting money from trucks.
