Dhar downplays impact of CJP protest in Meghalaya

Shillong, Oct 12: Deputy Chief Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar has downplayed the impact of  protests by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) in Meghalaya.
He termed it as a central issue that will be handled by the Centre.
Speaking to reporters on Monday ( Oct 11), Dhar said, “Not at all, because this is a central issue. I think the government will handle it properly at the central level,”
Dhar refused to comment when asked about the demand for removal of the Chief Election Commissioner.
“See, the demand or whatever, I think the Government of India will be the right one to give this reply. Why should I give on its behalf,” he said.
When asked whether the youth voters will  move towards CJP, Dhar said the government stands firmly with the youth and expressed confidence in their judgement.
“I am not scared for the youth. I always love and respect the youth of Meghalaya because our Meghalaya youth are very intelligent and they know what to do in the future, because as a government we are with them,” he said.
