Terming the development as shocking and unfortunate, the CEO regretted and extended his apology to the voter.

However, the voter from Nongkrem, Ridalin Laloo, wants her old EPIC number back after she was offered a new one without her consent.

The voter is not satisfied after the election machinery included her name in the final electoral roll with a new number.

When asked, the CEO said, “We have replaced the BLO …inquiry is on . The system does not have revert back mode…the system is such that it can’t go back, hence the difficulty for correcting the mistake. The BLO did a mistake .. we have appointed a new BLO”.

To a query as to whether there will be any problem as her old  EPIC number is AHC0106229, whereas the new one is
AHC0260448, the CEO said,”I think ‘no’ in any case”.

Subject: Formal Complaint Regarding Incorrect SIR Mapping and Wrongful Marking of My Voter Record as Deceased at Laitkor Kynton U Mon

Respected Sir/Madam,

With due respect, I wish to bring to your kind attention a serious concern regarding the incorrect mapping of my voter record during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll by the Booth Level Officer (BLO) in my locality, Laitkor Kynton U Mon.

I have come to understand that my voter record has been incorrectly reflected in the list as belonging to a deceased person, despite the fact that I am alive and continue to reside in the locality. This apparent error has caused me considerable concern, as my Electoral Photo Identity Card (EPIC) represents my identity as a registered voter.

I further wish to bring to your notice that I have been advised by the concerned BLO to register afresh in order to obtain a new EPIC. However, I believe that the matter requires proper verification and correction of the existing records before any decision is made regarding my voter registration. I am concerned that an error in the mapping process may result in the wrongful deletion of my existing voter record.

As a responsible citizen, I respectfully request your good office to intervene in this matter and direct the concerned electoral authorities to conduct a proper verification of my identity and existing voter registration. I further request that the erroneous classification of my record as deceased be corrected and that my existing EPIC and voter identity be protected, subject to the applicable electoral rules and verification process.

I also request that no deletion of my voter registration be finalised without following the prescribed procedure and providing me with a fair opportunity to present my case. I am willing to cooperate fully and furnish my existing EPIC, identity documents, and any other relevant records required for verification.

I have full faith in the administration and sincerely hope that this matter will receive your urgent attention so that my legitimate concerns as a registered voter are addressed and the error is rectified without unnecessary hardship.

I shall be grateful for your kind intervention and for written confirmation of the action taken in this regard.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Yours faithfully,

Name: Ridalin Laloo
