Avoid chopper, travel by road to understand people’s plight, NGO tells CM

Shillong, Oct 19: A pressure group has asked Chief Minister Conrad Sangma to avoid helicopter journey and to travel by road to understand the plight of people while visiting Chokpot and Siju on October 21.
The ASONG Southern Zone, Baghmara wanted him to travel by road instead of using helicopter.
The pressure group said using a chopper would mean missing the poor road condition that locals endure every day.
Opposing the helicopter plan, ASONG said, “Flying over these areas completely bypasses the severe daily struggles faced by local residents due to the dilapidated condition of our roads.Chief Minister should see the reality for himself. We urgently request that the chief minister travel by road instead to inspect the ground reality and experience firsthand the urgent need for infrastructure repair and development in our constituency,” ASONG added.
