Iaineh, Nongrim Hills, Madanriting, Splash and SYM win on Day 1 of Veteran Basketball Tourney
A total of 7 Games were played on the opening day of 1st Veteran Basketball Tournament at St Anthony's Hr Sec School
Shillong, Oct 18: On the 1st Day of the 1st Veteran Basketball Tournament, the games were inaugurated by the Chief Guest Father Anthony the Principal of St Anthony’s Hr Sec School, he was also accompanied by the guest of Honour O Mawthoh, District Sports Officer East Khasi Hills and Donald Wahlang General Secretary Meghalaya Basketball Association.
A total of 7 Games were completed, 2 Women’s and 5 Men’s Games. Iaineh, Nongrim Hills and Madanriting were victorious in their first games in the Men’s Category and in the Women’s Category Splash and SYM got their first wins too.
The most interesting game of the evening was the game played between Nongrim Hills and Nongstoin Ballers where both the teams fought it out till the last minute. The neck to neck game was concluded as Pleasantly and Sunny Pathaw of Nongrim Hills showed their national experience which led their team to a 4 point game win against the Nongstoin Ballers. John Fisher of the Nongstoin Ballers scored 19 points and fell short in the final seconds of the game.
