Shillong, Nov 4: Congress president Vincent Pala on Tuesday said the proposed regional alliance being floated by Conrad Sangma and others is a camouflage of the BJP to rejuvenate the party two years ahead of the Lok Sabha polls.
“The BJP knows that the party will be defeated in the next Lok Sabha polls and hence the BJP is behind the formation of the regional panel to revive its prospects.
According to Pala, the NPP is supported by the BJP, and Pradyot’s sister is in the BJP, besides others in the group who had connections with the BJP.
He said as another regional front, the North East Democratic Alliance( NEDA) is defunct, the new alliance is supported by the BJP to salvage the party.
Pala, who had represented Shillong three terms in Parliament, pointed out that the MPs’ Forum had taken up many issues affecting the region and had proposed many schemes- some of which have fructified while others are in the pipeline or pending completion.
