Adelbert seeks CBI probe onto raid in Jaiaw
Shillong, Oct 5: North Shillong MLA Adelbert Nongrum has sought a CBI inquiry into the midnight raid in Jaiaw following the August 19 violent
Speaking to reporters on Monday after meeting Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong, Nongrum said a transparent and independent probe is the only way to instil public confidence.
“I have placed before the Deputy Chief Minister my demand for a CBI inquiry. What is white is white and what is black is black. Let the law take its own course,” Nongrum said.

He said it is still unclear how deep the rot runs in police .
The MLA also supported KSU’s demand to remove the Superintendent of Police and Deputy Commissioner pending investigation, stating that officials in power should be kept aside to ensure the probe is not compromised.
“Unless those in power are removed, the inquiry will not be smooth and the truth will not come out,” Nongrum said.
