AHAM moves CM against violation of reservation policy
Shillong, June 11: The president of the A·chik Holistic Awakening Movement (AHAM)- Central Executive Board, George Prince Momin on Saturday revealed that the personal interview results declared by Meghalaya State Watershed and Wasteland Development Agency has ignored the job reservation policy in declaring the results for the post of Field Engineeer in the “Community owned Small Multipurpose Reservoirs in Meghalaya”. Among all the 16 candidates declared and absorbed for the post of field engineer for the agency, only one A·chik/Garo candidate was selected which reflects the direct denial or negligence of the existence of state job reservation policy, AHAM said in a letter addressed to Chief Minister.
The organisation demanded that the results should be scrapped immediately and the new results be declared upholding the state job reservation policy.
AHAM said an inquiry committee should be set up against the person or persons responsible for the illegal acts and the failure of which will result in eruption of multiple agitations in Garo Hills while the organisation
The organisation also threatened to drag the authorities to court for the failure to uphold the existing policy.
