Shillong, Jan 11: All India Congress Committee (AICC) in-charge Meghalaya A Chellakumar said the party will form the next executive committee (EC) in KHADC and JHADC.
“We will definitely revive the Congress. In this district council election, we will definitely form the council,” said Chellakumar..
He was in Shillong to discuss party matters “A lot of people want to join the Congress party and already they have joined and many more people will join the Congress and we will admit one by one, you will come to know in due course of time.”
Regarding the party’s decision to pull out of the NPP-led EC in the KHADC, Chellakumar said, “That’s what I have also explained that to the candidates that we have joined with the NPP in the district council to strengthen the Sixth Schedule to the Constitution of India).”
“Congress is not sharing the power in Delhi today but NPP in the last 10 years, they are sharing the power in Delhi but they are not able to include the language in the Eighth Schedule till today but when the Congress joined hands in the district council, they could empower the women and the youth. So this is the difference between the Congress and other political parties,” he said.
